The Social Democratic Party was an Ibaglian political party with a social democratic philosophy. It was led by Theresa Kong. It won its first seat in the House of Commons in the November 2006 General Election. In 2009 it entered into a coalition with the Green Party. After the passage of the voting method referendum in 2010, the leaders of the two parties announced a merger, which was completed in January 2011.
