- The government advises the Governor-General to pardon Steven Lyall after his conviction for treason.
- Former Governor-General Dame Annette Farquhar dies at the age of 66, one day after being convicted of treason.
- Former Minister of Defence Steven Lyall and various others are convicted of treason and sentenced to prison for life.
- Former Minister of Education and Minister of Labour Sir Bernard Canton dies at age 97. He was the last living member of the Kenilworth government.
