About Ibagli Ibagli is an island country located in the South Pacific Ocean. Ibagli was originally inhabited by Polynesian peoples, it began to be settled by Europeans in the 1820s. Colonized by the British in the mid-19th Century, it obtained independence in 1955. Ibagli is located South of the Equator and just West of the International Date Line, at a central location in Polynesia approximately halfway between New Zealand and Hawaii. The foreign jurisdictions nearest to Ibagli are Samoa, Tokelau (New Zealand), Tuvalu, and Wallis and Futuna (France). The King and head of state of Ibagli is King Charles III, who is represented in Ibagli by the Governor-General of Ibagli. The current Governor-General is Sir Steven Spell. The head of the executive branch of Ibagli's government is the Prime Minister, currently Andrew Spearman. Ibagli has a unicameral Parliament. The single house of Parliament is called the the House of Commons. Until 2011, Parliament was bicameral, and consisted of the House of Commons and the Senate. [Page|Recent news] Prime Minister Sir John Goodwin denounces the decision by foreign media to break the media silence on the service of Prince Harry in Afghanistan with the British Army. He says the decision "places all armed forces personnel serving in the country in danger" and calls the publication "irresponsible." The Government announces that the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh will visit Ibagli in 2008 to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the colonization of Ibagli. Prime Minister Sir John Goodwin attends the 2007 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Kampala, the capital of Uganda. A bill is passed in Parliament granting a seat in the House of Commons to Hapalnia. The Government's plans to reprivatise passenger railroads are met with criticism. Governor-General Sir Steven Spell arrives in New Zealand for a state visit. The Governor-General receives the first poppy of the RIRSA's annual poppy campaign. Governor-General Sir Steven Spell opens the 2nd session of the 15th Parliament. The 1st session of the 15th Parliament is prorogued.

Featured Article: July 2026 Sir John Goodwin was the Prime Minister of Ibagli from 1994 to 2004 and from 2006 to 2011. Born in London, his family moved to Ibagli in 1947. He attended Exeter, Thistledowne, and Cambridge, receiving a doctorate in economics. For a short period of time he was a professor at Thistledowne. In 1976, he was elected to the House of Commons, but lost the seat in the election in 1977. In 1978 he returned to the House in a by-election. In 1985, he was selected to be Minister of Foreign Affairs in the government of Charles Forrester. He also served in the short-lived administration of Thomas Harlington. After the resignation of Harlington, Goodwin was appointed interim leader of the Conservative Party. He was later elected to the leadership of the party in 1990. The Conservatives won the 1994 election, and Goodwin was appointed Prime Minister. He was reelected in 1999. After losing the general election in 2004, Goodwin was replaced as party leader by Marcus Smallegan. After Smallegan's resignation in Autumn 2006, Goodwin was elected leader once again. The Conservative Party won the November 2006 General Election, and Goodwin was again appointed Prime Minister. He retired in 2011 and Amelia Pietersen was appointed Prime Minister.
