The Head of State of Samoa, His Highness Tupua Tamasese Tupuola Tufuga Efi, arrived today in Haphonia for a state visit that will last 3 days.

Upon arriving at RIAF Haphonia, he was met by Major General Edward Grant, representing the Governor-General. The Head of State was then taken by car to Queen's Square in Haphonia, where he was met by the Governor-General, Sir Steven Spell and given a Royal Salute by the 100-person triservice guard of honour. It was founded by the crew of HMIS Thomas Milton, the 1st Battalion Royal Ibaglian Regiment, and airmen based at RIAF Haphonia. A 21-gun salute was sounded by the Royal Regiment of Ibaglian Artillery at Government House.

After inspecting the guard of honour, His Highness was taken to Government House, where he will be staying while in Ibagli.
